Mary Johnson

Mary Johnson, Attorney, Educator and a Member of the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center and the Boston Chapter of the Muslim American Society, joins Walden Forum to speak about her experiences with the Muslim Community in New England in “A Sister’s Perspective: A Muslim’s View from the Middle Path of Islam”.

Mary Johnson grew up in Northeastern Connecticut and earned a B.A. degree in Italian and Spanish Language and Literature. She studied extensively in both Italy and Spain, where she developed further appreciation for linguistic and cultural studies. She pursued her Juris Doctor at Suffolk University Law School, graduating in 2013. She is a practicing attorney in Massachusetts and currently works for Central West Justice Center in Springfield, Mass., where she addresses Social Security and Emergency Assistance issues for Spanish-speaking residents. Ms. Johnson became part of the Muslim Community in 2011 and has been an active member of the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center in Roxbury, Mass., teaching the Islam 101 classes and volunteering at community events.
